                                                   Prayer Groups

Liturgy of the Hours is the “official” prayer of the Catholic Church and is prayed at St. Augustine’s every Saturday at 8:00am in the Church. This prayer is prayed all over the world, so we join in this prayer to fulfill the request of St. Paul to “pray unceasingly”. Pope John Paul II has strongly encouraged all the faithful to pray this prayer. Please join us.

The Prayer Chain was formed in 1998. A group of ladies offer daily prayers for the sick, troubled and deceased. If you need prayers or want to pray with us call Mary Jo Egan (303) 659-2677

Women’s Bible Group meets at 7:00 pm on Tuesdays in the room 6 of the parish center. Call Darlene Kaska (303) 659-7607 for more information.

The Rosary is recited thirty minutes before every weekend Mass. The group consists of persons who are assigned a specific time during each month to lead the recitation of the rosary.                                                  Councils

Pastoral Council is an advisory committee to assist the pastor in the pastoral needs of the parish. The term of service is three years and these terms are staggered. At the present time those who serve are either nominated by the parish community

Finance Council is call for by the Code of Canon Law.
Each parish needs to have this council to oversee the finances
of the parish. Committee members are appointed by the pastor. Call Father Ron for more information (303) 659-1410

Liturgy Committee is comprised of the pastor, the liturgy director and a facilitator from each of the liturgical ministries. The liturgical ministries are the music ministers, the proclaimers, the ushers, the altar servers, the art & environment ministers, the extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and the ministers to the sick and homebound. The liturgy committee is charged with the responsibility of educating the parish and giving shape to the communal prayer life and liturgies of the parish community through the guidelines put forth by the church. Grades K – 6th meet on Wednesdays at either 4pm or 6pm in the parish center.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is held every Wednesday at 6:00pm in the parish center. Children’s Liturgy of the Word for children age 4 – 6 years old meets Sunday during
the 10:00am Mass. 

                              Youth Ministry
Confirmation I (grade 7) and Confirmation II (grade 8 and up) meets on Monday evenings 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Classes are bilingual. 

         Parish Life Committees and Organizations

Altar and Rosary Society was started in 1929 to take care of the altar and to say rosaries at funerals. The Society has done fundraisers such as dinners to supply needs for the church sanctuary. The Society still has a major fund raiser the bake sale in the Spring every year. We pray the rosary, have a short business meeting, entertainment and refreshments at the meetings. All women of the parish are invited to attend meeting held the 2nd Monday of the month September

Legion of Mary is a worldwide organization that does spiritual works, such as visit the sick. Once a month we assist Father by gathering the nursing home residents for Mass. We meet on Wednesdays in the parish center for Rosary and Legion Prayers at 8:30am. Call Florence Contar for more information

St. Joseph Society has a meeting twice a year at the parish center. At the meeting they pray, pay dues, and with that money pay for the St. Joseph Mass. They have a novena every year in March for nine days and a Mass for St. Joseph followed by a pot luck. When one of the members dies they give money to the family, pay for Masses of the deceased members and pray the rosary for the deceased member and pray at the cemetery. Holy Family Society holds an annual nine day novena, Holy Family Mass and potluck. Everyone is welcome. Our monthly
donations are sent to the seminarians of the Archdiocese of Denver. A small Chapel with a statuette of the Holy Family is carried from the home of one member to another every 24 hours and special prayers are said in each home. We have two communities. Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic, family, fraternal, service organization which provides service to
the church, community, council, family and youth. Local council #3285, Msgr. Roy Figlino Council was established

Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary—KCettes is a social
organization meeting on the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the Knights of Columbus hall at 11th & Bridge St. We have fund raisers for our annual scholarship awards. Scholarships are awarded to one boy and girl in the Brighton, Ft. Lupton area. Call Ann Galligan 303 655-1285 for more information.

The Columbian Squires is a leadership development program for Catholic young men, 10 to 18 years old. It is the youth branch of the Knights of Columbus and its groups are called circles. Squires run their own meetings and plan athletic, social spiritual and community events. Make a difference; join a Squires circle today by contacting Bob Heumann at 303-655-1852.

Cursillo Ultreya is an encounter with Christ. The Cursillo movement is a movement of the church to make Christ the primary influence in society. It is a very positive spiritual revitalization of Christ’s values in all environments. Call Kathy Delgado (303) 659-2442 for more information.

Bible Study is a regular study class every Monday after
the 9:00am Mass in the parish center. A book of the New Testament is selected and we go through it and make pastoral application. No previous experience is necessary. Call Fr. Ron (303) 659-1410 for more information.

Women’s Reflection is a study group which meets in Room 2 of the parish center of Wednesdays at 1:00pm. The group is involved in the study of scripture, church teachings
and peace and justice issues. This parish organization was formed over 15 years ago, and is always seeking new members to bring new perspectives to their studies. Women’s Reflection is a fun study group dedicated to our faith in an atmosphere of fellowship. Call Norma Brown (303) 659-1153 for more information.

Heavenly Dusters clean the sanctuary once a week. Families
or several people volunteer one month a year. If you would like to help call Cathy Suppes (303) 659-7610.

Altar Linen Laundering includes the purificators, finger towels, ablution towels and the corporals and are picked up every week. They are purified, washed and ironed. If you would like to help please call Mary Kohlbeck at (720) 685-0446.

The Funeral Committee was formed in 1997 by four ladies of the parish and are assisted by many volunteers
who help serve and donate food and pastries. They assist families with funeral lunches and refreshment after Rosaries and Funeral Masses. Call Darlene Steckline (303) 659-0587 for more information.

Stewardship Committee is an advisory group to the pastor comprised of parishioners whose mission it is to encourage and increase the spirit of stewardship in the St. Augustine Parish Community. Call Rick Drury at (303) 659-9271 for more information.

The Offertory Counters are made up of teams of parishioners,
who count and process the weekly offertory collection. Each team counts the Sunday offertories and are extremely dedicated. It requires accuracy and teamwork to accomplish. Call Steve Kurz (303) 659-1410 X 14.
